Pennie Is Open for Business… Again
With a special enrollment period opening on federally facilitated marketplaces and some state-based marketplaces, like Pennie.com, consumers will have the ability to enroll in coverage or change their current marketplace plan from Feb. 15 through May 15, 2021. The uninsured rate has slowly been ticking up in recent years and opening the marketplaces should aid in decreasing the uninsured rate across the nation. 47% of Uninsured Americans Did Not Explore ACA or Medicaid Options
Nearly half of uninsured Americans did not consider Medicaid or plans on the Health Insurance Marketplace assuming they were ineligible or would not qualify for subsidies according to a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and Urban Institute study. Read more.
Outreach and Enrollment Monthly Assister Call
PACHC’s Outreach and Enrollment Peer Networking Group meets monthly on the last Wednesday of each month and is open to health insurance assisters, navigators, benefits and eligibility counselors and those interested in learning more about the Health Insurance Marketplace, Medicaid, CHIP and Medicare health coverages.
