Since it opened five years ago, Berks Community Health Center grew from 5,969 patients in 2013 to 10,991 patients in 2017. The growth has included two new sites and an array of new specialty care options including dentistry, podiatry and substance abuse treatment, as well as success in earning NCQA patient-centered medical home recognition. Last week, health center officials announced their biggest expansion plan to date, a 37,500 square foot fourth location. The announcement for the new site came during the first Picture Berks Healthy event at the DoubleTree by Hilton hotel, a fundraiser to honor the health center's founders and raise awareness of the health center's sites and services. The new location will have 30 exams rooms and more dental exam rooms and places to offer additional specialty care. For more, click here.
