Fire Ravages Health Center Site

Conneaut Valley Health Center, a western Pennsylvania rural health clinic (RHC), was destroyed by a middle of the night fire this week. The blaze enveloped the facility forcing firefighters to fight it from outside the building. No one was injured and all of the RHC's staff and patients were accommodated at other primary care sites in the system. CEO Mike Downing said he was touched by the outpouring of offers of help from the community as well as from other community health centers. PACHC was able to assist by facilitating emergency provider credentialing for the alternative locations. Incidents like this serve as critical reminders of how important it is to regularly review, practice and update emergency response plans. For more on the fire, click here.
