DHS Direction on Getting Paid PPS for an LPC/LMFT Encounter

Effective for dates of service on or after July 1, 2018, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has approved the Department of Human Services' (DHS) State Plan Amendment allowing Licensed Professional Counselors (LPCs) and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFTs) to generate a FQHC encounter and receive payment at the Prospective Payment System (PPS) rate.
