Pennsylvania Association of Community Health Centers serves as the collective voice for Pennsylvania's Federally Qualified Health Centers (FHQCs), FQHC Look-Alikes (FQHCLAs), and non-profit Rural Health Clinics (RHCs).  Our members are unique nonprofit primary care facilities that provide a wide array of services to Pennsylvanians in underserved areas of the state. There are nearly 300 sites in 52 counties serving over 800,000 Pennsylvanians.  At these primary care facilities, patients will receive high quality care at a price they can afford with sliding fees based on income and family size.

Aetna Working to Improve FQHC Customer Service

Aetna Better Health met with PACHC staff to discuss its strategies to improve customer service to FQHCs. The new strategies include:

  • A new abbreviated on-line application vs. paper application; target implementation date is July 15, 2018
  • Discontinuance of the requirement to submit an ownership disclosure form for any provider that has a PROMISe ID effective with new applications submitted July 1
  • A provisional credentialing process; target implementation date is August 1
  • Formation of an FQHC advisory committee (Please contact Cheri Rinehart if interested in being nominated.)

Aetna Better Health has provided portable dental equipment to health centers in an effort to increase access to preventive dental services and improve the overall oral health of pediatric members, especially children at significant risk of dental decay and/or with early stages of dental caries. Mobile dental equipment was provided to: Keystone Health Center , Community Health and Dental Care , Community Health Net , Wayne Memorial Health Center , Hamilton Health Center , Welsh Mountain Health Center   and Greater Philadelphia Health Action .
